Genus Cabangus 2 species
Cabangus Korshunova et al., 2020 is a tropical dendronotid genus in the family Dendronotidae, erected for two species split from Dendronotus: the type species Cabangus regius (Pola & Stout, 2008) and C. noahi (Pola & Stout, 2008). Distributed in coral-reef habitats and reaching about 30 mm in body length. Members are recognised by several pairs of dorsally branching cerata and by a translucent whitish ground colour overlain with pale persimmon tones on the dorsum. The generic name derives from the Indonesian word "cabang" (branch), evoking both the dendronotid morphology and the rich contribution of the Indonesian fauna to global marine biodiversity (e.g., Hoeksema, 2007).
