Genus Babakina 2 species
Babakina Roller, 1973 is the sole genus of the family Babakinidae Roller, 1973, with about six described species across the Atlantic, Mediterranean, eastern Pacific and Indo-Pacific. Body length 10–30 mm. The genus is recognised by the fused, closely-set bases of the rhinophores, by short and densely packed cerata arranged in rows along the dorsum, and by vivid pink, orange, violet and blue coloration. The genus was named in honour of Dr Kikutaro Baba for his pioneering work on Japanese opisthobranchs.
