Contributed to "Umiushi Tsushin": Behind the Scenes of Building and Running SEASLUG.WORLD
This update came a little late, but I'm happy to share it now.
I have contributed an article about this site to "Umiushi Tsushin No.128 (September 2025)", a magazine published by the Research Institute of Marine Invertebrates.
On building and running the site
The theme I wrote about this time is the construction and operation of the website "SEASLUG.WORLD".
From the launch of the site in 2015 to the present day, I summarized in detail what system manages this vast amount of sea slug data, and what design philosophy I have followed in running the site.
Normally, as the side that "provides the service", I focus on stable operation of the system and updating data. Receiving this opportunity to write became a precious time for me to look back on the journey so far.
On being featured in a specialized magazine
"Umiushi Tsushin" is a publication with a long, distinguished history that supports research on marine invertebrates. This issue features fascinating academic topics, including how learning takes place at museums and the latest hydra research.
Being featured in such a magazine — from the angle of "building and running a website" — feels deeply meaningful as a record.
All of this is thanks to everyone who shares wonderful photographs with the site, and the users who use it daily.

I will continue to dedicate myself to development and operation so that "SEASLUG.WORLD" grows into an even more valuable platform.
Thank you for your continued support.
