A medium-sized Dendronotidae described from the North Pacific. Externally similar to the D. albus species group with which it had been confused; recognised as a semi-cryptic species, distinguished primarily by molecular data (16S etc.).

Distribution

Type locality NW Pacific, Kamchatka region. The original description is based on NW Pacific material; some specimens previously identified as D. albus from the NW Pacific are referable to this species.

Etymology

The specific epithet robilliardi honours Gordon Robilliard in recognition of his pioneering review of the genus Dendronotus.

Remarks

The same paper that described this species also described D. arcticus.
