Description

Ground colour yellowish white. The mantle skirt is edged with a fine white line and bears more than ten pairs of branched processes; the processes are repeatedly subdivided and have brown tips. The oral veil is similarly fringed with branched processes with brown tips. The dorsum is brownish with a dark-brown reticulate pattern, although the pattern fades along the midline and around the bases of the lateral processes. Rhinophore sheaths yellowish white at the base and brown distally; rhinophores brown. Reaches 70 mm in length.

Distribution

Known from Indonesia and the Philippines.

Etymology

A Latin compound of elongatus ("elongate") + reticulatus ("net-like").

Remarks

Formerly Marionia elongoreticulata. Marioniopsis is a genus of large tritoniids; the present species is among the larger members of the genus.
