Description

Ground colour bright yellow, marked with bold black tiger-stripe bands across the body. Dorsum bears scattered rounded tubercles, the largest set being a row in front of the gill. Rhinophores smooth, club-like, yellow. Gill leaves yellow. Feeds on yellow sponges. Reaches 100 mm in length.

Distribution

Tanzania, Oman, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan. The type locality is East Africa / Zanzibar.

Etymology

The specific epithet minor is the Latin for "smaller".

Remarks

Originally described in "On some nudibranchs from East Africa and Zanzibar, part V" (Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1904). The species has been transferred between Notodoris and Aegires over time and is currently retained in Notodoris by WoRMS.
