The Sea Slug World app is here
We built a smartphone app for Sea Slug World. Carry an encyclopedia of over 2,100 species in your pocket — usable offline — and identify sea slugs from a photo with AI. A handy companion for diving and tide-pooling.
The encyclopedia works offline
The app's standout feature is offline support. On a remote island, out on the boat, or at the surface right after a dive, you can open the encyclopedia and check a name — no signal required. It just works in the field.
Search by common or scientific name and look up all 2,100 species from your hand.
The encyclopedia itself is free to browse online; saving it for offline use (catalog data plus cover photos) is a Premium feature.
Identify sea slugs from a photo with AI
Take a photo or pick one from your camera roll, and the app lists the closest matching sea slugs. "What is this one called?" — answered on the spot.
You can try it up to three times a day for free. Premium members get unlimited identifications. (AI identification needs a connection.)
Catch up on new photos and posts
Browse sea slug photos posted by divers around the world, and read the latest blog posts right from the home screen — handy for prepping before a dive.
Download
The app is available now on both Android and iOS, free to download.
