Genus Bursatella 2 species

Bursatella Blainville, 1817 is a sea hare genus in the family Aplysiidae, including Bursatella leachii and a few related forms, distributed across temperate to tropical coasts worldwide. Members can form large aggregations on sandy-muddy bottoms and algal beds, and are characterized by dense papillae covering the body, which give rise to the Japanese name "toge" (= "thorns"). Diet consists of macroalgae and cyanobacteria.
