Remarks

Originally described as Noumea romeri Risbec, 1928 (Faune des Colonies Françaises 2(1): 165). Now placed in Verconia Pruvot-Fol, 1931, because Noumea Risbec, 1928 is a junior homonym of Noumea Fauvel, 1874 (Polychaeta). This species has been used to anchor a "Noumea romeri colour group" within the small-bodied Indo-West Pacific chromodorids.
