Description
Body elongate, with the dorsum bearing small raised tubercles arranged in a somewhat regular pattern along the midline behind the gill and along the sides. Spicules project from the top of every tubercle. Ground color is translucent white, overlain by a white reticulate pattern and scattered small brown spots. The rhinophore pockets bear small lateral tubercles; the rhinophores themselves are smooth and brown. A larger tubercle stands in front of the gill.Distribution
At the time of the original description the species was known only from Okinawa, Japan.Etymology
The specific name hapsis is a Greek word meaning "mesh" or "network", in reference to the fine white webbing that covers the dorsum.Remarks
