Description

Body elongate and convex. The dorsum bears tiny, randomly scattered pointed tubercles. The rhinophore pockets are raised, with three flat-topped tubercles of varying size on a taller outer edge and a lobed seaweed-like frill. The rhinophores are smooth. The gill is protected by three tall, flat tubercles, and the multi-pinnate gill leaves resemble tufts of seaweed. Ground colour brown to reddish brown, marked with dark micro-dots and a paler reticulate pattern. The rhinophore sheaths are greenish, and the rhinophores and gill leaves are bright apple green.

Distribution

Reported from the Philippines.

Etymology

The specific epithet malinus is Latin for apple-green, in reference to the colour of the rhinophores and gill appendages.

Remarks

Family Aegiridae.
