Description

Body elongate and slightly rounded; the posterior third is narrower than the rest. The dorsum bears tall, flat-topped tubercles, anvil- or mushroom-shaped, with spicules projecting from the top. Smaller tubercles line the edge of the posterior foot, with one prominent tubercle at the tip. The rhinophore pocket is slightly elevated and is usually surrounded by three tubercles of varying size. Ground colour yellowish-white, with the mushroom-shaped tubercles of the same colour or slightly more yellow. The rhinophores are yellowish-white to brown.

Distribution

Reported from Madagascar, the Philippines and Japan.

Etymology

The specific epithet incusus is Latin for "anvil", in reference to the shape of many of the tubercles.

Remarks

Family Aegiridae. A small sponge-feeding dorid.
