A new Pseudobornella from China — and rethinking what we call P. orientalis in Japan

Pseudobornella orientalis was described and named by Kikutaro Baba in 1932, but a wide range of colour and morphological variants had been lumped under that name. Several of those variants were given separate Japanese vernacular names in Japanese field guides, and one of them has now received a formal scientific name.
