Armina babai (S. Tchang, 1934)
Description
A medium-sized armina nudibranch reaching about 80 mm in length. The body is flattened and oval, with a grey to greyish-brown background colour. The dorsum and the oral veil are dotted with small white tubercles. The rhinophores match the body in colour and are inconspicuous.Distribution
Originally described from the coast of Qingdao (Tsingtao), China. Subsequently recorded broadly across the Indo-West Pacific, including Pakistan, the south-east coast of India, Singapore, China and Japan. Generally found on sandy and muddy bottoms.Etymology
The specific epithet babai honours the Japanese malacologist and opisthobranch worker Kikutaro Baba.References
