By car: about 3.5 hours from Fukuoka or Kumamoto Airport. By bus: the Amakusa-go express bus connects Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal to Hondo Bus Center (linking with airport limousine buses). By train: JR Misumi Line from Kumamoto Shinkansen Station to Misumi Station, or Romance Shuttle Bus from Izumi Shinkansen Station to Kuranomoto Port, then ferry to Ushibuka Port.
