Description

Ground colour orange to green with scattered minute tubercles on the dorsum. An irregular greyish-brown patch extends from between the rhinophores to in front of the gill, narrowing or breaking up centrally. Tubercles within this patch are larger than those elsewhere. Rhinophore stalks white, clubs dark brown. Gill the same colour as the body, with the leaflet margins sometimes tinged dark brown. Reaches 15 mm.

Distribution

New Caledonia (type locality), eastern Australia, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Japan, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Costa Rica.

Etymology

Latin immunda, "unclean, dirty."

Remarks

Originally described as Platydoris immonda Risbec, 1928. Subsequently placed in Siraius by Brodie & Willan, and now returned to Doris.
