Description

Dorsum yellowish white with a wavy dark band that encircles both the rhinophores and the gill. The area inside the wavy band is brown to greenish brown, with rhinophores and gill of the same colour but paler at the dorsal centre. A thick brown submarginal band runs between this line and the mantle margin. Some individuals show black-brown ocelli between the wavy line and the submarginal band. The mantle margin is rhythmically undulated when the animal moves. Reaches 60 mm.

Distribution

Vietnam (type locality), Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Guam, Japan, Marshall Islands.

Remarks

Originally described as Glossodoris coi in Risbec, J. 1956 "Nudibranches du Viet-Nam," Archives du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, ser. 7, 4: 1-34. Subsequently transferred to Goniobranchus. One of the few non-New-Caledonian Risbec species, described from his post-war Vietnam material.
