Description

Body white. A dark brown line encircles the posterior side of each rhinophore and broadens laterally. In some individuals small brown spots are scattered randomly on the flanks and on the middle and posterior parts of the lateral processes. The lateral processes share the white body colour. Rhinophores translucent white.

Distribution

New Caledonia, the Philippines, Australia.

Etymology

Dedicated to Gary Cobb, an Australian sea-slug researcher and photographer.

Remarks

Murphydoris is a genus of small cryptic Goniodorididae. Paz-Sedano et al. 2022 revised the genus and described several new species including the present one.
