Description

Body uniformly opaque white. Rhinophore tips red or orange. A fine brown line runs behind each rhinophore. The lateral processes share the white body colour.

Distribution

Papua New Guinea, Japan, the Philippines.

Etymology

A compound of Spanish maraca (the percussion instrument) + Latin branchia (gill).

Remarks

Murphydoris is a genus of small cryptic Goniodorididae. Paz-Sedano et al. 2022 revised the genus and described several new species including the present one.
