Description
A small head-shield slug reaching about 5 mm in body length. Background colour is creamy yellow-white to pale pink. The parapodia and visceral mass bear large brown patches, and portions of the parapodial margin carry brown lines. A faint orange line runs along the edge of the cephalic shield and along the midline. The posterior projection of the visceral mass is yellow-white with a pointed tip. The species swims actively using its parapodia.Distribution
Originally described from the waters around Guam in the Mariana Islands. Subsequently recorded broadly across the Indo-West Pacific, including the Aldabra Atoll, Indonesia, and Japan.Etymology
The specific epithet ladrones refers to the former name of the Mariana Islands — "Islas de los Ladrones" (Islands of Thieves) — which is the type locality.References
