Description

Ground colour translucent white, with pale pink to purplish-red pigment broadly suffusing the dorsum and cerata; the same pigment marks the tips of the rhinophores and oral tentacles. Externally very similar to the form catalogued on this site as Trinchesia sp.22.

Distribution

Type locality Airport Beach (Kahekili Beach Park), Maui, Hawai’i. Also recorded from Madang, Papua New Guinea.

Etymology

From the original description (Kim, Donohoo & Gosliner, 2024):
The name turon comes from the delicious Filipino dessert that is made from fried banana and can be combined with ube (sweet purple yam).

Remarks

Previously figured as Cuthona sp. 7, Cuthona sp. 15, and Abronica sp. 2 in earlier guides; established as a distinct species in a 2024 revision.
