Description

A headshield slug with a creamy white to yellowish-white ground colour overlain by large dark-brown ring-shaped blotches that cover the entire body except the foot. The species burrows in sandy substrates. Reaches 40 mm in length.

Distribution

Widespread in the Indian Ocean and western Pacific. The type locality is Samoa.

Remarks

Originally described as Doridium (Aglaja) pilsbryi Eliot, 1900 in the Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. Transferred from Philinopsis to Tubulophilinopsis by Zamora-Silva & a 2018 revision based on molecular phylogeny of the Aglajidae.
