Description

Ground colour yellowish white. The mantle margin is undulate and bordered, from outside in, by white, red, and white. The dorsum bears scattered white dots. Rhinophores red. Gills white with red rachides. Reaches 35 mm in length.

Distribution

Widely distributed from the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific; type locality in the Hawaiian Islands.

Etymology

The specific epithet poliahu refers to Poliahu, the Hawaiian goddess of snow.

Remarks

Formerly placed in Glossodoris. Transferred to Ardeadoris following the molecular phylogenetic revision of Chromodorididae by a 2012 molecular revision.
