Rhinophores and oral tentacles long and smooth, yellowish white with pale purple bands at the base and around the middle. Reaches 40 mm in length.

Distribution

Western to South Pacific; recorded from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan and the Solomon Islands.

Etymology

The specific epithet undulatum is Latin for "undulate".

Remarks

Resembles Phyllodesmium poindimiei but distinguished by the white midline stripe and the absence of fine white dots on the body. Like many species of Phyllodesmium, it retains zooxanthellae acquired from its octocoral prey within the cerata.
